Class 3 At The Book Barn

Welcome to the world of a member of staff from a rural school.Who else would be walking 23 children over muddy squelchy fields, dressed in book characters to and from a second hand book shop?
Well Miss Reakes, Mrs Haskins and Mr Marvin spent a lively morning on the 7th March, helping the children of Class 3 to make their way over field and dale to arrive safely at the Bookbarn. We spent about an hour or so exploring the books and investigating the warehouse. The children were all allowed to choose a free book to take home and many of them also bought other books - 50p for children's books, £1 for other books.
We arrived back at school at about twenty to twelve, tired and hungry and a little muddier than when we left. It was a great experience and all the children were given a card which allows them to visit again for a free drink and another free book.
Thanks to everyone who works at the Bookbarn. We look forward to visiting again (hopefully under drier conditions and without fancy dress!).
